DENT Instruments Introduces PowerScout FLEX™ Meter Platform for Advanced Energy Monitoring

Bend, Oregon — May 20, 2026 — DENT Instruments, a leader in advanced energy measurement solutions, today announced the upcoming launch of PowerScout FLEX™, its next-generation power meter platform designed to simplify installation, expand monitoring capabilities, and deliver deeper visibility into facility energy usage.

The PowerScout FLEX™ meter series, paired with DENT’s newly developed FLEXPoint™ software platform, introduces a more flexible and scalable approach to energy monitoring for commercial and industrial environments. The platform will be available in models supporting 3, 12, 24, and 48 monitoring channels, allowing organizations to scale their metering infrastructure based on facility size, system complexity, and monitoring requirements.

Building on the legacy of DENT’s industry-standard PowerScout™ HD platform, PowerScout™ FLEX introduces enhanced hardware performance, streamlined commissioning, improved integration with building automation systems, and powerful virtual metering capabilities.

A More Flexible Approach to Energy Monitoring

At the core of the new platform is Virtual Meter technology, which allows a single physical meter to create multiple logical meters. This enables facility managers, engineers, and system integrators to monitor multiple loads, systems, or tenant spaces without adding unnecessary hardware.

By reducing hardware requirements and simplifying system design, Virtual Meters can help accelerate installation, lower deployment costs, and provide clearer visibility into energy usage across a facility.

PowerScout™ FLEX also improves integration with building management systems and analytics platforms through a flattened Modbus register structure, allowing all virtual meters to be accessed through a single meter address. This streamlined architecture simplifies configuration and helps reduce commissioning time.

Designed for Modern Energy Infrastructure

PowerScout™ FLEX meters are designed for a wide range of applications, including commercial buildings, industrial facilities, data centers, tenant submetering, energy management systems, and building automation environments.

The platform supports both BACnet and Modbus communications protocols, enabling integration with existing building automation systems, energy management platforms, and cloud-based analytics tools.

Introducing FLEXPoint™ Software

To complement the new hardware platform, DENT has introduced FLEXPoint™, a redesigned software experience for configuring and managing PowerScout™ FLEX meters.

FLEXPoint™ provides guided workflows, intuitive setup tools, and a modern interface designed to reduce installation time and simplify meter configuration. The platform also includes FLEXPoint™ GO, a browser-based configuration tool that allows technicians to configure meters from a web browser without installing additional software.
