Electronics Technician (Bend)

DENT Instruments is a growing, 33-year young technology company in Bend. A leader in the energy information “green” sector, DENT manufactures energy metering and measurement equipment for customers all over the world. We include in our client list Fortune 10 companies as well as small electrical shops. We are keenly aware how our products help reduce energy use and improve efficiencies for the betterment of everyone. There are only 20 of us but we perform like a company of 100 – ask our competitors! Now our growing engineering team needs a support person. You will be part of a team of about a half-dozen engineers and techs.

The Electronic Technician will perform setup and testing on Company products for functionality and reliability prior to their release and perform validation testing. The position fabricates prototype components and test fixtures for lab and field testing and performs installations and repairs of test equipment and components when necessary.

  • Perform acceptance testing and evaluate results; perform quality control testing
  • Document test results and procedures
  • Responsible for research and development activities in the areas of prototype testing, new product introduction and report compilation
  • Provide technical assistance and resolution when electrical or engineering problems are encountered during or after assembly
  • Fault diagnosis and correction
  • Build, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair electrical instruments or testing equipment
  • Electronic assembly fabrication for engineering prototypes and test systems
  • Provide customers with Technical Support assistance
  • Electronic assembly, clean-up and other duties as assigned
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.

  • Two (2) years of college training in a technical field, or 5 or more years of electronics technician and testing experience
  • Experience with both through-hole and SMT Soldering
  • Two (2)+ years of experience trouble shooting and repair down to the component level
  • Experience with dealing with customer service and technical support
